Last month, our Wellington Point Aged Care residents from both Wentworth and Stanford visited the beautiful Heritage Listed Ormiston House.
Built in the 1860s by Captain Louise Hope, who became known as the Father of the Australian Sugar Industry, Ormiston House is a superb example of Colonial architecture and is surrounded by 14 acres of historic grounds and gardens overlooking the picturesque Moreton Bay.
Many of our residents took a guided tour of the stunning home and its grounds with some opting for the virtual tour.
The staff at Ormiston House set up a lovely area outside overlooking the vast grounds for us to enjoy a delicious morning tea of warm scones served with jam and cream. It made us all chuckle when Eileen Wright commented ‘I wouldn’t want to be the one mowing the lawns’. Nor would any of us!
