Last month our Merrimac aged care residents got busy for St Patrick’s Day cooking green chocolate crackles, making decorations, gardening plus much more.
The Start of Autumn
The beginning of March and the start of Autumn had our gardeners out pottering around repotting a few plants and a spot of weeding. A break was in order when our fury friends visited. Residents had families and distinguished guests join them during our first happy hour of the month and there was plenty of smiles and chatter going on. We have a fantastic team here in the Merrimac Kitchen supplying tasty selections of hot and cold finger foods at happy hour which is needed after all the singing and dancing.
St Patrick’s Day
Residents got busy cooking green chocolate crackles and making decorations ready for a special happy hour. A lot of good music, good food provided by our wonderful kitchen staff and plenty of giggles with shenanigans by our entertainer on the day.
Art Therapy ‘Under the Sea’
Residents at Merrimac are encouraged to continue their own talents or discover new ones, including art. Every Friday a group of residents in the Ritz building meet up to work on their Muriel.
This Month’s Activities
Our furry and feathered friends revisit. Every visit brings smiles and laughter to the residents. This is a great opportunity for cuddles and memories.
Celebrating Easter and ANZAC day. Where families and friends are encouraged to attend our celebration of Easter during HIGH TEA and the ANZAC service in the company of the Mudgeeraba RSL.
Around our Home
Many different activities go on throughout our home during the day. This month celebrates a few of these.
