On Saturday 8th August, our very own Lifestyle Team Member Cal MacKinnon will be taking part in the Peaks Challenge Gold Coast in order to raise money for our residents.
This highly demanding event, sees cyclists travel 235km with over 4,000 vertical metres within a 12 hour deadline.
A loop ride on the Gold Coast via Tamborine, Beechmont, Springbrook, Natural Bridge and Tomewin, the event promises to challenge even the most elite cyclists.
All money raised will go towards a pilot hydrotherapy programme for aged care residents. Hydrotherapy is highly regarded as a successful method to provide pain relief, improve mobility and balance and promote general fitness and wellbeing.
Trained physiotherapist, Lisa Gilks from Aqua Moves, Palm Beach in conjunction with Merrimac’s physiotherapists will put together a program for our aged care residents.
If you would like to support Cal in this demanding challenge and help raise funds for the residents’ hydrotherapy program, you can simply donate via paypal here:
