We love getting in touch with our creative side and creating beautiful things. Last month our aged care residents enjoyed an arts and craft morning where we put our skills to the test to make beautiful paper weights.
Using re-purposed glass coffee jar lids, which one of our nurses Lyn had kindly been saving for us, our residents were put to task to produce eye catching, yet useful paper weights.
Using a mix of potpourri and cut out images such as teddy bears, bumble bees and butterflies, the residents filled the glass cavities and added a scent of vanilla to finish their paperweights off.
Our residents were quite amazed at what could be produced with old coffee jar lids, with many saying that they were going to give them out as gifts to loved ones.
