The month of December was filled with festive activities for the Merrimac Park aged care residents such as Christmas crafts, Christmas party and New Years celebrations.
Volunteer’s Morning Tea
To celebrate National Volunteer’s Day, Merrimac Park Private Care held a high tea for our wonderful volunteers to show how much we appreciate their time.
Santa came to town early bringing joy and many smiles across our aged care facility.
Our residents enjoyed a beautiful Christmas lunch with all the favourites. Plus, Santa handed out gifts to all our residents.
It was a lovely day, enjoyed by all.
This month, our residents were lucky enough to see two happy hour performances. As always, The Lone Wolf gave our residents a wonderful performance. Plus, the Sun Dancers came and took to the stage, giving yet another fabulous show.
In the true spirit of the festive season, our residents enjoyed two special event performances. Irma Courtney held a beautiful Carols by Candelight while Trevor Rix helped bring in the New Year celebrations.
Around the facility
This month, we were in the festive spirit and during our regular art class, we made Christmas t-shirts and Christmas mugs, while Raffles decorated a gingerbread house.
During the holidays, we had visiting children who volunteered their time off to spend time with our residents and help out with bingo and putt-putt golf.
Our residents also went on a night trip to see local houses decorated with Christmas lights.
