Fun and Fabulous Melbourne Cup Day, Animals, and Outdoors Connection

Melbourne Cup Day

Last month, we had the pleasure of celebrating Melbourne Cup Day at Merrimac Park Private Care. The event featured various activities, including elegant attire, live entertainment, a pony visit, champagne, and a thrilling sweepstakes. It was a wonderful occasion, both the residents and staff enjoyed it.

International Men’s Day

We celebrated International Men’s Day by hosting a special Men’s BBQ in honor of the wonderful men in our facility. The event was well-attended, with many of the men enjoying a delicious selection of food and beer while engaging in conversation with one another.

Farm Animal Visit

We were delighted to welcome Old McDonald’s Farm back for another visit. This time, the residents happily meet an alpaca, piglets, baby chickens, and a goat. The experience brought much joy, with residents sharing plenty of laughter. We’ve captured many memories through photos to share with their families and friends. Some are seen below.

Making Fascinators

In celebration of Melbourne Cup Day, we thought it would be a fun and creative idea for our residents to design their fascinators to wear to the event. The activity was a great success, with many unique and imaginative creations. Everyone had a wonderful time crafting their fascinators.

Monthly Van Outings

Last month, we had the pleasure of taking our residents on a delightful outing to Historic Rivermill, where they enjoyed observing a variety of farm animals. They also indulged in a relaxing picnic on a beautiful, warm day. Additionally, some of our residents were taken to The Spit, where they had morning tea and engaging lovely conversations.
