Merrimac Nursing Home Facility September Tours and Fun Activities

Gold Coast Bus Tours

Last September, Merrimac Nursing Home Facility said our goodbyes to DINO, our minibus that had taken us on many trips around the Gold Coast over the past few years. And then we said hello to Dion and Lonestar coach services so, for four hours, around thirty residents, three staff, and two volunteers will now be going to travel the Gold Coast and beyond (pending COVID 19 restrictions of course) in style.

We’ll be out for lunch each Monday and we have already traveled out to Hinze Dam and Mt. Coot-tha.

Birthdays and Happy Hour

Celebrating birthdays and receiving delicious cakes made by our on-site kitchen staff is just one of the items of every birthday agenda.

Fathers’ Day was acknowledged also and we had such a busy happy hour for the start of Oktoberfest that we forgot to take photos!

Around Merrimac Nursing Home Facility

It does not matter what stage the residents are up to in their lives. Show them the outdoors, give them a pencil, or even a paintbrush and see what they can create.

Every day, all around Merrimac Nursing Home Facility, someone is doing something.

Keeping Active

Everyone has their preferred way of keeping active and here at Merrimac, a few fun options include physio chair exercise and cycling.

Cooking Days

Our resident’s in Merrimac Nursing Home Facility travelled to Mexico for lunch, dining on beef enchiladas!

Meanwhile, Raffles cooks thanked staff with choc chip muffins and a heart cake.

Community Events

Merrimac AFL & NRL footy tipping season came to a close and what a finish! While in our 1st year AFL season, we had all 3 placegetters, the NRL tipping (now in its 3rd year) was taken out by Nola. Once again, this fierce (but modest) competitor has fought hard to finish 1st equal and is already geared up for the 2022 season.
