Merrimac Park November Newsletter
The month of November was filled with various activities for the Merrimac Park aged care residents such as Melbourne Cup celebrations, a visit from Ros Bates as well as a Christmas market.
Melbourne Cup Celebrations
Merrimac Park celebrated Melbourne cup separately this year, but that didn’t stop us from enjoying the race and dressing up in our finest outfits to celebrate this big day.
Ros Bates visits Merrimac Park Residents
This month our residents enjoyed a morning tea with Ros Bates, the LNP member for Mudgeeraba, to hear her political points and she listened to our resident’s opinions.
Gen Pals
A year in the making Merrimac Park residents had the opportunity to start a friendship with year three students from Musgrave Hill State School through a gen pal program.
This month the students met with their pen pal for a morning tea. Our residents had a lovely time meeting their little gen pals.
Cooking
Raffles and Ritz cooked up a storm this month with Raffles cooking some Montrose tea cakes and Ritz, by residents request, made smashed potato as well as the very popular bliss balls.
Around the facility
We thought we should share some small moments around the facility of our day to day lives of maintaining our areas, relaxing with friends and getting our grove on during the regular entertainment sessions.
Market day
It’s almost Christmas time! So, Merrimac Park held a Christmas market for our residents, and with the help of Amcal pharmacy having a stall, it was a very successful morning.
