The month of April was filled with various activities for the Merrimac aged care residents such as Easter celebrations and an ANZAC Day service.
This month our residents enjoyed performances from Mark Dean, Trevor Rix and a happy hour concert from Johno as well as a Thursday afternoon performance from Irma Courtney.
Merrimac Park held a commemorative ANZAC Day service at the pavilion.
We would like to thank our special guest Vicky from Summerville funerals, and Toni, our Hotel Services Manager, who assisted Vicky during the service. Our Facility Manager, Claire, and our Care Manager, Sue also helped throughout the service.
We had a helping hand from some of our residents; Rob, Margaret, Roger, Peter and Jean.
It was an emotional service, and a great way to remember those who fought for our beautiful country.
This year our Merrimac aged care residents created their own Easter hats. Then, each resident showed off their creation during the hat parade. There was also an Easter Raffle, which left the winners very happy.
During the school holidays, we had a few small helping hands spending quality time with our residents.
Around the Facility
Whether it’s celebrating birthdays, crafts, a pamper session or practising instruments, our Merrimac aged care residents have always got something available to keep them busy.
We were lucky to have a visit from Found by the Hound. Our furry friends visited all our residents and were introduced to some new faces. Our residents truly enjoy these visits from Found by the Hound.
