Merrimac Private Care Residents Joined the Olympics!

Gold Coast Bus Tours

Merrimac Private Care residents managed to get in a few outings before COVID-19 restrictions hit us again.

It was one outing enabling us to get off the bus for one time in July while enjoying the beautiful days on the Gold Coast!

Beating to the Drums

Gareth from Sound Synergy has been sharing his love of music with us for the past three years.

Playing to the beat of the drums, residents get to create their own sounds using their own drum or percussion instrument to play.

This one event alone reaches into all the participants’ physical, social, and mental well-being through dance and music. Once again and before the latest COVID-19 directives and our doors were open, we were lucky enough to get this secured.

Merrimac Private Care Residents Around the Grounds

Late July, our doors closed once again but we still kept everyone busy. From learning new games 1:1 to sharing lunch with friends in the garden, getting up on the dance floor, and being the winner in a raffle which is one great way to end the week.

Olympics 2020! Before we closed our doors, due to COVID-19 directives, Merrimac Private Care residents at Raffles got to start their version of the games. Getting in at least three days of some quality competition in table tennis, table bowls, and indoor boules. The final three events will be held 1:1 with the final scores tallied at the end. Watch this space!
