Merrimac Park Healthy Activities and Celebrations for Residents

Hobbies and Interests – Footy Tipping

Throughout 2020, the Merrimac Park healthy activities for residents and staff include tipping off against each other in the NRL footy competition which has now been running 3 years. Winners are grinners!

Celebrating Life

Birthdays make special memories and at Merrimac Park we celebrate each birthday individually with cake, balloons, friends, and fun. There’s always something for everyone at Merrimac Park Aged Care!

Spirituality and Religion

Every week, we have Church services both Catholic and Interdenominational. Who says it has to be all serious – we had the pleasure of Pastor David introducing us to his interesting right-hand man this month!

Men’s Group

One of the Merrimac Park healthy activities that men regularly do is bond together for some mateship while enjoying a beer, a blokey chat, maybe a movie, and a game or two. These are times they look forward to and great friendships are formed.

Individual Activities and Therapies

We encourage residents to continue doing what they love doing most. Be it making a sandwich, picking flowers from the garden for your beloved, playing the keyboard or music, and dance therapy – each resident’s interests and abilities are consistently being nurtured.

Culture and Entertainment

Every month, our kitchen cooks showcase cultural foods from around the world – one of the Merrimac Park healthy activities we are looking forward to.

Last month, residents enjoyed a traditional Spanish Paella with Sangria for lunch. We also had the pleasure of Kerry Swan the piano man entertaining us with some favourite golden oldies.
