Japanese Dancers

Last month, one of our cultural experiences at the nearest aged care – Merrimac Park Private Care, featured a performance by a group of Japanese dancers. These talented individuals demonstrated traditional Japanese dance routines and provided insightful explanations about the significance of each dance.

We were delighted to host them and our residents thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to experience and learn about these captivating cultural traditions.

NAIDOC Week Dot Painting

During NAIDOC Week, our residents excelled in creating and decorating magnets thru dot painting. This enjoyable and educational experience allowed us to recognize the history, culture and achievements of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people where we featured their traditional designs in our arts.

Sophia’s 100th Birthday Celebration at Raffles

On the 16th of July, we had the privilege of celebrating Sophia’s 100th birthday inside the nearest aged care at Raffles. Sophia’s family and several residents attended the event. The celebration featured an elegant high tea, music, and a beautifully decorated birthday cake, making the occasion truly memorable.

Scenic Bus Trip with Cycling Without Age

Last month, our annual bus outings featured a visit to Paradise Point, where we participated in Cycling Without Age—a nonprofit organization dedicated to providing community service by connecting individuals who can no longer cycle themselves with outdoor experiences.

Our residents thoroughly enjoyed the opportunity to breathe in fresh air and take in the scenic beauty. Additionally, we embarked on a picturesque bus tour around Point Danger, where we were fortunate enough to spot some whales along the way. The day concluded with a delightful stop for ice cream on our return journey home.
