International Women’s Day in Wellington Park
Wellington Park Aged Care Home celebrated morning and afternoon teas for our special ladies in the facility. The ladies wanted to pose for a photo with the parasols and flowers showing off their beautiful smiles and sharing with the group how special it is to be a woman and reminiscing past hobbies and interests.
World’s Greatest Shave
John, one of our Wellington Park residents led the World’s Greatest Shave. He had his beard dyed blue and was ready to lose it all for a great cause. Dakoda, a staff member also offered to lose his sideburns that he had been growing for at least 2 years.
Men’s Shed and Ladies Group Handicrafts
Residents of Wellington Park Aged Care Home have been working with needles, cotton, wood, and nails. The men’s shed has been putting together a wooden crate ready to have them painted and sold at the end-of-year craft stall. The ladies have been working on their knitting skills making scarves, knee blankets, and sewing decorative buttons onto tote bags.

“Top of the morning to ‘ya?”
Residents and staff of Wellington Park donned on green clothes and accessories ready to celebrate all things Irish and sing to the rooftop all Irish songs. The happy hour was a great success having residents sing the best Irish songs.
Cultural Day was celebrated where staff dressed in attire for their culture and residents enjoyed a morning of music in Wentworth. Residents of Stanford enjoyed watching an afternoon cooking demonstration and taste testing.
Greek Independence Day
“Opa Opa?” The residents joined in a morning of dance and learning about the Greek culture. Staff and visiting student volunteers joined in by dressing up as Greek gods and made to the morning of fun and dance.
