Wellington Park Care for the Elderly Events for June

Ladies Afternoon Tea

Ladies of Stanford and Wentworth came together in the Stanford outdoor patio area for a special afternoon tea. They got an invitation that required them to either wear a hat or fascinators to this special event so they did.

Wellington Park Care for the Elderly residents had smiles all afternoon and some ladies even got a small prize for the best hats and fascinators. We look forward to holding more of these special events bringing the residents of WPPC together.

Knitting and Natters Group

Residents of Wentworth have waited so long for the ladies knitting group to come back. We finally braved the winter breeze in the late afternoon to come together for knitting and a good old yarn about hobbies, interests, and employment. This has become a weekly afternoon session for the ladies to enjoy time together laughing and having a great time helping each other knitting winter items.

Sensory Art at Wellington Park Care for the Elderly

It was a great success with the residents from Stanford getting very creative with their Art Boards. They used their imaginations and showed that they certainly can be very creative. The end results were fantastic and we hang them in the Lifestyle Activity Room for all to enjoy.

Games Challenge

We had two teams from Stanford which challenged each other and they absolutely enjoyed themselves. Wellington Park Care for the Elderly introduced various games such as Quoits, Basketball Hoop, and Bean bag toss where players could gain points. The team with the most points became the winners and each took home a bag of lollies which they enjoyed. The smiles on their faces were priceless.

Wellington Park Care for the Elderly Plant Sale

Residents of Wentworth got ready for the upcoming plant sale. They helped with planting some succulents and plants which were donated by Esme Egan and Eddie. It was a delight to be able to do a plant sale for our residents to fundraise.

Residents didn’t mind getting their hands dirty with soil to make the glass vases look beautiful. We made $314 dollars which will go towards buying some new board games and singalong karaoke DVD’s. We want to thank everyone that bought plants for this fantastic resident fundraising activity.

Ormiston Heritage Pipes and Drums Concert

Residents of Wentworth braved the winter morning fresh air to listen to the sounds of the Ormiston heritage pipes and drums. It was a rather cold morning so layers of blankets were definitely needed to enjoy the wonderful sounds of the talented pipes and drums band.
