Last month our residents were very busy getting ready for and enjoying the Christmas and New Year season.
Volunteer Xmas Party
We celebrated with our Volunteers of Wellington Park Private Care over a delicious meal accompanied by musical entertainment from Sterle Buchanan.
Our volunteers have played a crucial part in our aged care facility throughout 2019, so this was a special way of us thanking them for their kindness.
Everyone enjoyed a morning of games and music as well as a special tribute from the residents Wellington Park Private Care thanking the volunteers with a heartfelt slideshow movie.
Chi Kung Exercises
Residents, John and his wife Ellen, guided us all in a relaxation morning of seated Chi Kung. Residents come and take a seat ready for the morning Chi Kung Class.
Ellen and John have been doing Chi Kung for Wellington Point Private Care for a year now, and the residents look forward to the weekly class in Stanford and Wentworth.
Residents follow along with instructors who use different Tai Chi style moves while seated in their chair.
Christmas Lights Tour
Our residents, staff and family joined in an exciting evening looking at the local Redlands Christmas lights.
With a full bus, we set off to our first stop. The bus was full of cheer, and we all sang along to many Christmas classics.
Circle of Men Final 2019 – Celebration
The Men of Wentworth and Stanford gathered under the front entrance area of Wentworth in their normal circle group talking and sharing the week they had.
Then, all of a sudden, the sound of horns started as 2 trucks entered into the front gate.
The circle of men group/members received a surprise visit from Kerry and Jamie Wilkins from Char lee Haulage our visiting truck drivers.
Visiting Santa at Alexandra Hills Shopping Centre
Santa Claus is coming to town!
Our residents enjoyed a morning outing at the local shopping centre to have a delicious morning tea followed by lining up to have a photo with Santa.
Carol’s by Candlelight
Residents, staff and family members of Wellington Park Private Care came together to sing Christmas Carols.
A scrumptious supper, songbooks and battery-operated candles filled the room, ready for everyone to sing along to the traditional Carols.
We welcomed some visiting volunteers who wanted to come to sing for our residents, which made the evening extra special.
