Residents Forge Bonds with Kids, Animals, and Nature
Oktoberfest and Halloween
Oktoberfest is a great example of cultural awareness. Residents here at Wellington Park sampled food from Germany during lunch and some took part in the annual quiz held each year.
Halloween this year was celebrated with decorations, crafts, and trick-or-treating.
On the evening of the 31st, a group of children of ALL ages roamed the hallways in search of lollies.
Intergenerational Program
An event where two generations meet. Each month, the Maggie Moo play group joins us and residents get to interact with children from 2 months to 5 years old. Each visit is different – singing, costumes, dancing, and bubbles.
A new program is being introduced in addition to their visits – Adopt A Grandparent – something to watch out for!
Bus Outings
This out-around-the-town regular activity is a chance to reminisce and observe changes in our greater community. We travelled from Redlands to Mt Coot-Tha.
Creativity through the World of Arts.
We make sure to immerse our residents in the world of arts to enhance all senses. We experience a variety from music to painting. Residents get involved as much as they can. Some activities last month included Vinyl Records, Collage & Rock Art.
At the Farm and Friendships.
WPPC residents are very fortunate to have their mini farm and many residents enjoy taking a walk up to just sit and watch the animals or feed them. Every opportunity is taken for residents to form good friendships.
