Mother’s Day Morning Tea
Wellington Park residents came and enjoyed a morning tea to celebrate our very special ladies. Each lady was given a special gift.
International Nurses Day Morning Tea
Stanford residents enjoyed a morning tea and spoke about how much our staff are appreciated here. A short video of staff from both here and Wentworth was shown to them. Some staff wrote in a book what nursing means to them. Our Care Manager came and shared what nursing means to her and her experiences over some 20 years. Residents were grateful for this.
Residents gathered and enjoyed the morning by calling out bingo numbers and waiting for 2 Little Ducks “quack quack” to be called. Some residents even enjoyed playing two game cards.
Last May 18, we celebrated a resident’s birthday. Residents gathered inside the activity room which is all decorated with birthday emblems. They sang a birthday cheer to our very special resident. The cups of tea flowed while the cake was cut and given out to all to enjoy.
Stanford residents got creative at making different napkin designs. They were pleased with the results and remarked how cute the candlelight design was.
Garden Tea Party
The winter weather was upon us and what a better way to enjoy the cool, windy afternoon weather than to be outside in the courtyard enjoying a nice hot cup of tea or hot chocolate. The tea party was accompanied by singing all songs that the residents grew up with.
Edith was given a special gift of a slide show put on a photo viewer where her granddaughter saved special family memory photos for her. It is for her to view while the family is unable to visit.
Pop-up Clothing Store
Ladies of WPPC came and enjoyed a pop-up clothing store in the activity room. They tried on clothes and shopped for bargains. Grapeseed Clothing Store offered the lifestyle staff to be the shopkeepers so residents could enjoy the afternoon pursing through the clothes racks.
Rocky Road Baking
Residents dressed up with the garb for making scrumptious Rocky Road. Both men and women experienced cutting up ingredients and the reward for their hard work – eating it. Delicious was the comment and they were all happy with their results.
