The Stanford Activity Room in Wellington Point Private Care has a special little area set up for coffee and chats with residents. An invitation is handed out and that particular resident can come and enjoy tea or coffee with the Lifestyle Staff. We are also available always to other residents who want to chat – with or without invitation.
Winter Themed Garden Party
Residents of Wentworth came to enjoy the afternoon winter breeze in the courtyard area and the table was set for fun. Last month’s theme was outdoor umbrellas and one of our male residents stated why all the ladies should have all the fun. I wanted a photo taken too!
The residents were looking forward to the next garden party and anticipating what this month’s theme will be.
NAIDOC Dot Art
Residents of Wellington Point Private Care participated in Aboriginal dot painting. It’s a great way for them to bring out their creative sides while participating in the NAIDOC week celebration.
Wellington Point Private Care Guest for NAIDOC Week
We also celebrated NAIDOC week with a very special guest who came to play his variety of didgeridoos where residents were given traditional clapping sticks to play along with the final piece. The guest also shared different aboriginal printed art and boomerang designs with us all.
Residents gathered to enjoy a very special birthday with one of our new residents to our facility. Cake and tea were served. In the afternoon, favourite songs were played in the background for our resident celebrating her birthday.
A few residents donned headgear, aprons, and gloves to make coconut balls and chocolate brownies today. The result was very pleasing to the taste buds.
Christmas in July Morning Tea
We enjoyed Christmas in July with morning tea and lunch followed by entertainment in the afternoon with Geraldine.
Our theme was Silver and Blue for winter in the activities room and each wing had different table cloths and centrepieces on tables to celebrate the meal. A beautiful roast turkey and pudding were served for dessert. Yum!
Christmas in July Dance
Residents of Wentworth Aged Care gathered in the activity room ready to dance and sing along to different carols. It was a delight to see some of them enjoy a slow dance before they all went off to enjoy the festivities of lunch.
The drinks trolley made it way around to each dining area and the residents laughed with other residents and staff as they cracked their party crackers.
