Christmas in July, Bus Trips, Concerts and Kids – What a Lovely Month!
Picnic Bus Trips to Paradise Point, Palm Beach, and Hinterland
Our residents braved the cold to have a Morning Tea picnic at Paradise Point.
The day was sunny but the air was very crisp. They had blankets to keep them warm accompanied by a warm cup of tea/coffee to keep their circulation moving.
They also enjoyed bus trips to Palm Beach for a picnic as well as up in the Hinterland in Canungra. It’s so nice to be out and about socializing with those in the community.

Christmas in July Grandies Donations
Kylie and associate had organized a Winter Donation Program called the Grandies. Some of our residents were picked to be recipients of bags which had a winter outfit with mittens, beanies, assorted socks and toiletries. Each bag also contained a personalized note from those that put the bags together letting them know that they were very much thought of when they collected all the items.
Our residents appreciated this beautiful gesture. We thanked Kylie with a Certificate of Appreciation to pass on to her crew with all our thanks and love.

NAIDOC Week Art
NAIDOC Week started on the 6th of July. In honor of this, our residents did some dot painting to show their artistic flare. Some family and friends joined in and everyone had a great time with the colors.

Hinterland Kindy Visit
The Hinterland Kindy came and visit our residents while we were having our Christmas in July month.
The children bought their thoughtfully made cards to give to our residents. As you can expect, having 10 little energetic children was a lovely experience for our residents who don’t get to see their little ones as often.
It certainly bought back memories for our residents when their children were that age. This is our Intergenerational Program where we hope to cultivate a friendship between our residents and the children. The aim is to build a strong bond which is beneficial for both parties.

Christmas Karaoke Sing-along and Concert
Our residents in Raffles got to enjoy the Christmas Karaoke sing-along. We discovered that some of them can sing up a storm and really find their inner Doris Day or Frank Sinatra.
Some even got up to dance to the beat. Everyone had so much fun. We were also privileged to have Zoltan play some Christmas carols with his accordion which was different but still interesting to dance to.
