Honoring Women on ANZAC Day, Redlands Trip and Good Times at Home!
ANZAC Day
In this year’s ANZAC Day, we honoured the women whose courage, labour, and sacrifice helped shape our nations in times of war and peace.
These women served as nurses near battlefields tending to the wounded under fire.
They also worked as drivers, clerks, radio operators, mechanics, code workers, and in countless support roles that kept military operations moving. And many stepped into factories, farms, schools, and hospitals at home, carrying the burdens of communities while loved ones were away.
Their service was often given without recognition, yet their contribution was vital. They faced danger, grief, separation, and hardship with resilience and dignity. Some never returned home. Others came back to lives changed forever.
We remembered these women last month especially their strength, devotion, and sacrifice.
Lest we forget.

Out and About
Last month, the sounds of pipes and drums echoed beyond the Wentworth Building. It was such a fitting way to begin ANZAC commemorations.
As part of our routine, our bus took us out around the Redlands. It was a short drive down the road with a side trip to Logan.

Around Our Home
Our residents enjoyed a range of activities around the home, from gardening to music. They also made time for short walks, friendly chats with fellow residents, and arts and crafts.
