These Brought us Together: High Tea for Mother’s Day, Harmony and Hobbies

Mother’s Day Celebration

We celebrated all of the women in our lives with high tea, entertainment, and guess what? Everyone received a gift!

Hobbies that Never Leave

Building, gardening and sewing are just some of the few hobbies that our residents enjoy on a regular basis. We also awarded the quilt lovingly made by one of our residents to the lucky winner.

Movement Matters

Our movement activities was a mix of simply getting out in the fresh air (and it certainly is), playing table Tennis and balloon tennis, and other simple ways to keep everyone moving.

Arts and Crafts

Last month, we concentrated on building with light wood and stained glass in Wentworth while in Stanford, our paint and sip was a challenge – it was all about BEES!

Community Activities

We had students from Year 11 Redlands College Music perform for us the week of Mother’s Day. The strong voices of these young talents captivated everyone and we look forward to future visits.

We also recognised International Bee Day with a live show led by Ian from A Green Soul. He shared his knowledge on bees and had a great display of nests by different bees including the Australian Native Bee – so tiny!

Quick Trivia: Did you know they only produce 500g to 1kg of honey a year?

And then at the end of May, a group headed off to The Redlands Sporting Club for lunch. Everyone enjoyed studying menus and ordering/paying for their own meals.
