Wellington Park Aged Care Home Celebrates New Year and Aussie Day

New Year’s Luncheon

What a fantastic start to the new year! Last month, both facility of Wellington Park Aged Care Home had concerts with Jamie Fletcher in Wentworth and Bill and Dawn up in Stanford as performers.

These entertainers had the residents dancing in their seats as well as on the floor. It was so nice to see the residents really enjoying themselves and having loved ones there to share this special moment with them.

Concerts were followed by a beautiful lunch held also in the activity room. Residents said they had such a great time and thoroughly enjoyed themselves in this special day.

Cooking, Gardening and Woodwork Fun

Stanford residents enjoyed making chocolate chip cookies and sausage rolls. The staff were well fed from tasting the residents’ final products. “Yum Yum” was all I could hear.

Wellington Park Aged Care Home residents just love getting out in the fresh air and gardening or doing some woodwork projects. They enjoyed planting into the amazing pots that the residents had painted. The wooden planter box is going to be refurbished and given a bright and colorful new look. Keep posted for the end result.

Warra Warra Dancers at the Aged Care Home

Wentworth residents enjoyed watching the Warra Warra dancers from Victoria Point State High School. They put on an amazing show which the residents found very interesting and engaging. The dancers told various stories through dance which were beautiful.

Wine and Cheese Day

Both Stanford and Wentworth residents got to enjoy a variety of cheeses to celebrate wine and cheese day. Aside from the beautiful cheese, Happy Hour was also filled with fruits, wine, beer and soft drinks. What better way to finish a Friday afternoon.

Australia Day Celebrations

Both Wentworth and Stanford held special events to celebrate this very special day in Australia. There were concerts inside the aged care homes to entertain with social gathering and special treats for the residents.
