Last month, residents in the Ritz building at Merrimac Gold Coast Aged Care paid tribute to Italy when they whipped up some very nice pizzas.
And another cultural dining experience took us to Indonesia.
Birthdays, Anniversaries, and Raffle!
At Merrimac, we always make sure everyone is remembered on their birthdays. Each resident has individual cakes made to order from our onsite kitchen and receives a gift suitable or useful for them.
Merrimac also holds regular raffles – Father’s Day raffle being our latest and our winners included a mix of staff, residents, and volunteer visitors.

Music, Babies, and Pets
Music therapy sessions are held regularly either individually or as a group.
Twice each month, Merrimac Gold Coast Aged Care hosts animal visits by Harmony Hooves Healing Hearts. Chickens, Goats, Ponies, Dogs to name a few come to visit and we never know who does until they arrive.
Our baby minding duties have somewhat increased too.
Community Involvement
Everyone is encouraged to participate in a range of programs involving the community- from NRL and AFL tipping to writing to primary aged students.
They are also encouraged to attend our resident and food focus meetings where they can share ideas, keep up with the latest, and more importantly, contribute to their care and daily activity planning.
